NFL Week 2 Betting Picks and Predictions: Top Spread Bets
Week 2 of the NFL season gives us another opportunity to win some bets. So let's not waste any time. These are our top sports betting picks and predictions for Week 2 of the NFL season.
Indianapolis Colts Colts at Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. ET
Perhaps picking against the Packers without knowing Jordan Love (knee) is absolutely certain to sit out makes you fidgety. Even if Love tries to take the field at Lambeau on Sunday, he’s unlikely to be fit enough to fend for himself. We’re banking on Green Bay playing it safe with their high-priced quarterback, and that stretches into the gameplan with Malik Willis standing in as the QB1. Not that the Colts are trotting out a Super Bowl-caliber defense.
But Indianapolis arrives full bore with a powerful and explosive offensive scheme capable of shaking the Packers out of a conversative, run-heavy attack and into the type of tempo Willis can’t play. Running back Josh Jacobs was wobbly in Week 1. Even with a strong showing, he’s going to be running into eight-man boxes from Indy.
Colts -3 and Packers Under 19.5 points +140 (FanDuel)

Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m. ET
Sure, it’s a road game on the schedule for the Rams. But Los Angeles is going for a 10th consecutive win in Glendale, and the Cardinals are trying to beat an NFC West opponent for the first time since beating the Rams in Los Angeles in 2022. They’ve lost eight in a row in the division.
Arizona could be destined for a repeat of last season. The Cardinals began the 2023 season 0-2, feeling like they should be 2-0 after losses by a grand total of seven points to Washington and the New York Giants. The Cardinals squandered a big lead at Buffalo, allowed 24 second-half points, and in rolls the Rams, a team with wins in 13 of the last 15 games with Arizona. Outscored 63-23 by the Rams last season, the Cardinals are better on paper. But Los Angeles looked like a contender again in Week 1, taking the Detroit Lions to overtime on the road.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos, 4:25 p.m. ET
Taking the Steelers’ defense to score at +600 would be tempting for anyone who watched quarterback Bo Nix play like, well, a rookie at Seattle. He came home with two picks in his NFL debut, but his high-risk or ill-advised throw count was easily five or six. That’s Nathan Peterman range.
If Nix can’t get it right this week, the Broncos might begin fretting about his confidence and become a team to tackle in future spread bets.
But the Steelers are not a friendly visitor with a scheme designed to baffle and batter the quarterback with inside zone blitz. We’d have a bit more belief in the Broncos making it work with Nix if there were weapons to counter the likes of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.
Steelers alternate spread -4.5, +148 (FanDuel)
